Can I create multiple profiles at one time?

Yes. PRO Memberships allow you to create multiple profiles that can be used for different reasons (sales, employment, networking, dating etc.). Once you have upgraded your account, simply visit your Account in the top right corner and click ‘Add Profile’.

Opportunity has the ability to notify you (and your LinkedIn contacts) each time there is an opportunity to do business. This can be in the form of employment, sales and networking opportunities. LinkedIn currently does not provide you with a window into which of your LinkedIn contacts is in need of your product, service, skills or who people who have similar interests as you and more. Opportunity is the tool you need to discover hidden value within your LinkedIn network. To invite your contacts Click Here. To add more regions, you’ll need to edit your profile. To edit your profile(s), click the arrow next to your name in the far right corner of your user dashboard. Then, select the profile you would like to add more regions to (Sales Lead, Networker, Job Seeker, Hiring Manager). You will see three (3) options on the top of your page; Your profile type, Settings and Statistics. Click on Settings. You will now be able to ‘Add a additional Region or regions’. Basic Members can add 5 regions. PRO Members can add 20. Make sure you hit the save button at the bottom of the page to update your changes.

Email our support team at [email protected] and request to have your industry or skill added. If your request is in high demand, we will quickly add it to our list of options. Note: You may not receive leads for a few weeks or longer until other members begin adding the new industry to their profile.

To upload/update your profile picture, click your name in the far right corner of the header. Then, select View\Edit Profile, next select the profile you wish to update. The profile menu should open and already be in edit mode, if it is not, then select Edit at the top right of the menu. Next select Upload to change your image. If the image needs cropping the select the Crop Image tool to the right of your image. Make sure you hit the Save button at the bottom of the page, or your new profile picture will not be updated.

The purpose of labeling leads as ‘Hot’, ‘Warm’, ‘Cold’ or ‘Success’ is to allow you to organize and manage your leads more effectively. Leads you’ve determined to be of high value should be labeled as ‘Hot’ whereas leads of low value should be labeled as ‘Cold’ or ‘Deleted’. Once you have had success with a lead (i.e. closed business, landed a job, etc), we encourage you to label the lead as ‘Success’.  Labeling leads is also a great way to more effectively manage your communication (mass message) between yourself and your leads. To choose your email preferences, click the profile image in the top right corner and select ‘Account’ in the sub menu. Then, scroll down the page and look for ‘Email Preferences’. Here you can select which emails you wish to receive from Opportunity including daily lead alerts, weekly statistics and updates and promotions.

Next to each person’s profile is a dropdown menu with an option to label each user – “Mark As”. Within this dropdown is the ability to “Report User”. Select this option and explain why you are reporting the person. We will look into the person’s activities and make a decision whether to ban them from the network.

If you upgraded on your mobile device through an app, you will have to handle that subscription via your mobile phone in your app store. This is a regulation through the app stores with any paid subscription purchased through them. Please see below on how to do this on both an iPhone and an Android phone. Deleting the app does not prevent charges through the app store. To manage subscriptions on each device visit:

Opportunity now allows you to create your very own Text Ad Campaign (similar to Google AdWords) within the Opportunity network.  Currently, the Text Ads appear along the top of the highly trafficked Dashboard just above your list of opportunities. In order to post a Text Ad Campaign you must be a PRO Member. With PRO Membership your ad will receive up to 1,000 impressions per month. You also have the option to purchase an additional 1,000 impressions for an additional $20. Learn more about creating your text ad campaign  

The mass messaging feature is a lightweight email marketing tool that allows our PRO members to send a bulk message to all of their leads (or a subset of leads) at one time. Additionally, our mass message feature also provides you with a convenient way to send an email blast to all of your LinkedIn contacts Note: You can do this 1x for Free! Lastly, our mass message feature can now provide you with a list of Opportunity users (and LinkedIn contacts) who have viewed your message. Learn more about Mass Messaging  

Verified Members are members who have been manually reviewed by our team in order to confirm their identity. Becoming a verified member is a great way to instill confidence in other users to want to communicate and ultimately do business with you. Once verified, a special badge is placed on your profile letting everyone know you have been approved. The process for becoming a verified member includes:

  1. Becoming a PRO member
  2. Uploading/Syncing your LinkedIn network
  3. Uploading a Photo
  4. Adding a LinkedIn Profile URL
  5. Manual Review by our team.

How do I Downgrade/Cancel my paid membership? 
(This action does not delete account)
  • Go to your Account page inside Opportunity
  • Locate the blue “Downgrade” button at the top of the screen and click it. If you do not see a downgrade button, you are not currently paying for a membership.
  • Confirm that you would like to cancel your paid membership

 
Access after you cancel: When you cancel a subscription, you will still have access to your subscription for the remainder of time you have already paid for. For example, if you purchased a one-year subscription on January 01 and decide to cancel your subscription on July 01, you will have access to the subscription until Dec. 31. But you will not be charged another yearly subscription the following January 01.

Can you prevent my current employer from seeing my profile?
Yes! We allow you to add specific email addresses and/or company URL’s to an exclusion list within your account – which prevents specific people from being matched with you and/or becoming aware of your profile. Additionally, we provide you with the ability to prevent your profile from being indexed (searchable) on search engines such as Google, etc. You can manage all of this on your Account Settings Page.

What is the purpose of adding a ‘Pitch’ to my profile?

The ‘pitch’ area of the profile is a great way to provide users with additional information about your business and/or yourself. Adding more information can quickly add more context to the person viewing your profile (and vice versa). Use this area to provide more details, add hyperlinks and calls to action. You can add a ‘pitch’ to your profile by clicking your profile image in the top right corner of the header and selecting the profile you wish to edit. Note: If you do not add a ‘pitch’, Opportunity will generate a generic one for you based on the information in your profile.

  3. Search for cities in the search bar and then click save.

Basic Members can add 5 regions.  Premium Members can add 10.  Premium PLUS Members can add 20.
Note: We do not allow users to add an entire state/country- this would generate hundreds of thousands of leads which would not be practical to sort through. If you cover a large area, select major cities throughout that area*

How Do I Filter My Opportunities?

Opportunity provides you with the ability to do an ‘Advanced Search’. To access our advanced filtering, click the ‘Advanced Search’ link located along the left hand side of your leads page. Once clicked, a variety of advanced filtering options will appear – allowing you to perform a number of searches for each profile you have created. How do I report inappropriate behavior?

Next to each person’s profile is a drop-down menu with an option to label each user – ‘Mark As’.  Within this dropdown is the ability to “Report User”. Select this option and explain why you are reporting the person.  We will look into the person’s activities and make a decision whether to ban them from the network.

What is the One-Click Intro / Apply feature?

The One Click Intro / Apply feature offers you a quick way to send an initial message to your opportunities. The message content has been crafted by Opportunity and can be customized. Additionally, you can now select an ‘Auto Follow Up’ option which will send a follow up message to any person who has not responded within 72 hours of your initial Intro/Apply message. The Intro message is designed for sales professionals and networkers, whereas the Apply message is designed for job seekers and includes a link to the job seekers’ LinkedIn profile. Conversely, a hiring manager will see a One Click Request button that is designed to ask a job seeker for more information. Learn more about the One Click Messaging features.  

Why should I invite my LinkedIn contacts to join Opportunity?

How to Disable Profile

Go to the profile you would like to disable. This can be done by clicking on your name/photo on the top right corner, and selecting the profile(s) you wish to disable.
Once you’re at the edit profile view, scroll to the bottom and click “disable profile”
To re-enable, repeat step 1 and scroll to the bottom of the profile and click “SAVE”
Note: Disabling your profile will hide it from other users and also pause your lead generation. You can re-enable at anytime.
Why do some of my leads ‘Offer’ and others ‘Need’? What is the difference?
For users who create a Sales Lead profile type, we ask the question ‘What Do You Offer’ – meaning, what services or products do you sell. Conversely, we also ask the question, ‘What Do You Need’ – meaning what services or products does your business (or you personally) need at the moment (or in the near future). Answering both of these questions allow us to match you to more people and provide more opportunities for everyone.

Is Opportunity A Dating Website?
First and foremost, Opportunity is a professional network designed to match people based on business goals (employment, sales, networking and more). Starting in 2018, Opportunity released a new user option that matches professionals for the purpose of dating (currently in beta).  As with all other profile types, the dating profile experience is kept completely separate from the other experiences (employment, sales, networking, etc.). Who Can See My Dating Profile?
Only members that have created the dating profile and are a match to you will see your dating profile. Each profile type (sales, networking etc.) are kept separate, so those seeking a relationship will not be matched with the other profile types that are hiring, selling or networking

What Is The Meet Now Feature?
Similar to our One Click Intro/Apply feature, we have crafted a message for you to send when you’re ready to meet up with your match! This takes the anxiety out of how to phrase the question, and gives you the power to ask with one click! The Meet Now feature is only available on Opportunity Dating.

How Do I Add Additional Photos To My Dating Profile?
Along with your profile image, you can add up to 5 additional photos to your dating profile! This can be done by logging in and clicking on your name on the top right and selecting your dating profile. This takes you to your edit profile page, and on the top right, click “Photos” and add there! We do not allow shirtless photos, images with children, photos in bathing suits etc. Keep it professional.

I’m Hiring. How Do I Post a Job Opening?

The Hiring Manager profile allows you to post job openings that will be matched to the millions of job seekers currently looking for jobs opportunity.  Your first job posting is free of charge. To post multiple (or unlimited) job openings requires PRO Membership. Job Postings are matched with job seekers across a number of variables including: location, industry, skills, personality, managerial style, company culture, employment level, education, salary requirements and more. Job seekers can quickly apply to job postings using the Quick Apply feature – which includes a link to their LinkedIn profile URL. To learn more about posting a job watch our short video tutorial

What is the One-Click Request?
The One Click Request feature offers you a quick way to send an initial message to your opportunities. The message content has been crafted by Opportunity and can be customized. Additionally, you can now select an ‘Auto Follow Up’ option which will send a follow up message to any person who has not responded within 72 hours of your initial Request message. The Request message is designed specifically for the Hiring Manager profile only to use with their job candidates. It is a quick way to introduce, and ask for more information from the potential new hire!

Opportunity now lets you import contacts from your various locations, such as Gmail, Yahoo and Outlook!

Step by step directions 

Click your name in the far right corner of the Dashboard header. From the drop down list select E-Mail Preferences. Make any necessary changes to all the individual settings, make sure you select the Save button at the bottom of the page or your changes will not be updated.
